Next LAVA Meeting

The next LAVA meeting will be at the NI offices in Mountain View,
at 6:30 pm on Thursday, September 23rd. WireWorks West will provide
appetizers before the meeting.

Our guest speakers will be Dave Gardner and Jon Bellin from NI, Austin.
Dave Gardner is director of engineering for all of LabVIEW development.
Jon Bellin is director of engineering for all software development.
Dave and Jon will be talking about the engineering & development process at
NI. We'll all be very interested to hear about this from such experienced
speakers.

After that, we'll have a discussion about what went on at NI Week 2004.
Martin Vasey, Jim Kring, and Richard Jennings will tell us what they
learned. Nothing requiring an NI NDA will be discussed.

See you there.

14th Bay Area LabVIEW Virtual Architects (LAVA) meeting

Fellow LAVA-ites,

Happy Holidays!

It’s time for the 14th Bay Area LabVIEW Virtual Architects (LAVA) meeting.
When: Thurs, January 29, 2004, 6:30pm food, 7:00pm meeting
Where: NI Offices in Mountain View, CA
Why: Because we all like to learn and share

Suggested Topic:

Programming Architectures – With all of the talk this year about proper coding, it is about time we had a round-table discussion about architectures and design patterns. This is a great opportunity to share your ideas of what makes up the ideal structure that you use in your programs or to discover the advantages of what others use.

Other topics welcome – If you have another topic that you would like discussed at this meeting, let us know.

As usual, we'll have "food and schmooze" starting at 6:30 and allow all of the late comers to straggle in until about 7:00 - 7:15, at which point we should start the meeting.

Please RSVP (affirmatively or negatively--so that we know how much food to get) to: mmunroe@abcdefirm.com. Also, as usual, please invite any other individuals you believe would find the meeting worthwhile.

11th Bay Area LabVIEW Virtual Architects (LAVA) meeting

Fellow LAVA-ers,
It's almost time for our next gathering!

Announcing the 11th Bay Area LabVIEW Virtual Architects (LAVA) meeting.
When: Thurs, April 17, 2003, 6:30pm
Where: NI Offices in Mountain View, CA
Why: Just . . . Because. ;-)

Topic:

LabVIEW Scripting--Undisclosed member(s) of the NI LabVIEW R&D team will fly out from Austin to give us a peek and explaination of the scripting functionality that is available in LV. This allows advanced developers to create programs that create programs--a very interesting and powerful new capability!

As usual, we'll have "food and shmooze" starting at 6:30 and allow all of the late comers to straggle in until about 7:00 - 7:15, at which point we should start the meeting.

Please RSVP (affirmatively or negatively--so that we know how much food to get). Also, as usual, please invite any other individuals you believe would find the meeting worthwhile.

I look forward to another exciting meeting with you all once again.

Best Regards,
Mark
